General terms and conditions

Passenger’s baggage is accepted for carriage when it is checked-in at the airport of departure, transfer airport, stopover airport or other check-in point.

Aircraft passenger is entitled to carry his/ her baggage within the established limit at no additional cost (hereinafter referred to as free baggage allowance). Free baggage allowance, including carry-on items, is established by the Airline Company. It depends on the type of the aircraft and cannot be less than ten kilograms per one passenger.

Airline Company or an authorized agent are obliged to accept for carriage baggage within the free baggage allowance limits and issue a passenger one baggage tag for each piece of the checked baggage. A baggage tag is designated to identify the baggage.

Upon the acceptance of the baggage for carriage, Airline Company or an authorized agent must mark the ticket specifying the number of pieces and weight of the checked baggage. Such mark is deemed equal to the baggage check issued to a passenger. When baggage weight is not specified on the ticket, it is considered that the total weight of the checked baggage meets free baggage allowance. Upon the acceptance of the baggage for carriage, Airline Company or an authorized agent are responsible for the safety of the checked baggage and its packing. Passenger’s checked baggage and the passenger must be carried by one and the same aircraft.

In the event of the involuntary downgrade, the passenger has the right to transport the baggage in accordance with free baggage allowance for the paid service class.

As of the moment of handing, the checked baggage for the carriage and up to the moment of its claim passenger’s access to the checked baggage is restricted except for the events when the baggage needs to be identified or additional vetting needs to be performed by the relevant authorized service. Baggage of the passenger who has not shown up for the boarding after checking-in and as well as checked and cabin baggage of a no-show transit passenger are subject to a mandatory removal from the aircraft.

Free baggage allowance

In order to check-in and carry the baggage Airline Company establishes a certain free baggage allowance, excess baggage allowance and rate for the transportation of the latter.

In accordance with the free baggage allowance established by the Airline Company one adult Passenger is allowed to carry up to 20 kg of the baggage at no additional cost, allowance for children between 2 and 12 years of age equals to 15 kg.

One Passenger is as well permitted to transport alpine skiing equipment (pair of skis and ski sticks) and additional apparel (boots, helmets, goggles, special clothing) in a bag total weight of which does not exceed 20 kg by regular Airline Company flights. Weight of the mentioned equipment and apparel is included into the weight of free baggage allowance.

Amount of free baggage allowance is established by Airline Company in kilograms depending on the carriage route, aircraft type, service class and paid rate. Amount of the allowance is specified in the airline ticket (itinerary receipt). Booking clerk must inform the Passenger of the free baggage allowance and specify it in the passenger’s airline ticket when the carriage is being booked or when the ticket is being purchased.

Free baggage allowance does not cover the following:

  • passenger’s baggage, regardless of the denomination and designation, when overall dimensions of one packed baggage piece exceed 50 x 50 x 103 cm (such baggage is considered oversized);
  • passenger’s baggage, regardless of the denomination and designation, when weight of one baggage piece exceeds 32 kg;
  • TV-sets, tape recorders, radio sets, photo and video equipment, household appliances and office equipment, cash registers if weight of one piece exceeds 10 kg;
  • flowers, transplants, greens, dried plants, branches of trees and bushes total weight of which exceeds 5 kg;
  • courier correspondence and parcels being accompanied by specialists of departments;
  • animals and birds with an exception of assistance dogs accompanying visually impaired passengers;
  • baggage requiring special terms of carriage including weapons.

Carriage of the baggage specified above is paid for in accordance with its actual weight regardless of the amount of the other passenger items being carried as baggage.

When carrying passengers having one common purpose of travel (confirmed by the documents) and travelling on one aircraft, by the same route and to one and the same point of destination (family members, delegation, tourists, sports or other teams) upon the request of the passengers and with their consent group free baggage allowance constituting a combined free passenger baggage allowances of this group is provided.

When group baggage allowance is applied all procedures in regard to baggage acceptance and its dispensing are performed by and with the help of a group supervisor.

Passengers having low fare or employee’s tickets, as well as children travelling with child’s ticket, have a right to carry their baggage in compliance with the established allowance, specified in the ticket.

Passengers travelling with a child under 2 years of age, have a right to transport one baby carriage free of charge in addition to free baggage allowance.

At the request of the passengers travelling together with a single purpose to one and the same airport (point) of destination or airport (point) of stop by one and the same aircraft (family members, persons travelling together on vacation or business), the air carrier is obliged to be apply to this passengers the sum of free baggage allowances of each passenger.

Summing regards free baggage allowances only.  Only free baggage allowances are subject to such combination. Baggage is checked for each passenger individually.

Airline Company or an authorized agent have a right to check weight of the baggage being transported by the passenger in his/ her airport of departure and (or) airport of destination. In the event it is found that the passenger carries baggage exceeding the established free baggage allowance or the number of pieces specified in the baggage check, having not paid the relevant charge, air carrier can demand payment for the excess part of the baggage.

The Airline Company shall have the right to limit the carriage or deny the Passenger the carriage of the baggage in case its weight exceeds the established free baggage allowance unless such transportation has been agreed on beforehand.

Requirements for packing and contents of the baggage

Each piece of the checked baggage must have a sound packing providing its safety during transportation and handling and excluding the possibility of infliction of harm to the passengers, crew members, third persons, damaging the aircraft, other passenger’s baggage and other property.

Baggage not compliant with the requirements of the present clause shall not be accepted for carriage.

Baggage having external damages that do not affect its safety during carriage and handling and cannot inflict harm to the passengers, crew members, third persons and damage the aircraft, other passenger’s baggage and other property, can be accepted for carriage upon the consent of the Airline Company. However, presence of the damage and its type shall be confirmed by the passenger’s signature.

A passenger is advised not to place any fragile and perishable items, banknotes, jewelry, precious metals, securities and other valuables, official documents, keys and other similar items into one’s checked baggage.

Weight of one checked baggage piece shall not exceed fifty (50) kilograms. Dimensions of one checked baggage piece shall not exceed 50 x 50 x 103 cm, and dimensions of one checked baggage piece on the flights performed by the aircrafts of Cessna-208B type shall not exceed 30 x 50 x 100 cm.

Baggage is not allowed for the carriage if its weight, number of pieces, dimensions or contents do not comply with the requirements of the international agreements entered into by the Russian Federation, present Regulations, other laws and regulations of the Russian Federation, legislation of the country to, from or through the territory of which the baggage is being transported on board of the aircraft.

Excess, oversized and heavy-weight baggage

Upon purchasing the ticket, and in the airport of transfer, a passenger is obliged to coordinate the weight of items excessing the established free baggage allowance he wishes to transport with the Airline Company.

Excess baggage, oversized and/ or heavy-weight baggage shall be accepted for carriage only granting that the aircraft has vacant capacity and providing the passenger has paid for the transportation of such baggage unless the transportation of such baggage has been previously agreed on with the Airline Company and paid for during booking.

A passenger is obliged to pay excess baggage transportation according to the established rate valid at the moment of carriage for the entire carriage up to the point of destination. Excess baggage weight must not exceed 32 kilograms. Baggage exceeding specified weight and number of pieces shall be carried only upon prior agreement with the Airline Company and shall be paid for according to the established rate for the total weight and shall be checked-in as a cargo in compliance with the cargo air service regulations.

In the event the baggage presented by the passenger is less in weight and/ or dimensions than the one that has been booked and paid for in advance, the difference in payment between booked and actual weight/ dimensions of the baggage shall be reimbursed to the passenger.

In the event a passenger increases weight of the carried baggage en route he/ she is obliged to pay transportation charge for the baggage exceeding free baggage allowance or the weight of the baggage that has been paid for beforehand. In the event the passenger decreases weight of the transported baggage en route Airline Company makes no recalculations in regard to the previous payment.

A passenger willing to carry an oversized baggage is obliged to notify Airline Company of this during booking or purchasing of the airline ticket.

In the event several air carriers are involved in the carriage, the Airline Company has to get their consent to transport the oversized baggage.

Oversized baggage is accepted for carriage providing that the dimensions of loading hatches and aircraft baggage-cargo compartments make it possible to load (unload) it to (from) the aircraft and to place it on board of the aircraft.

This baggage shall have fastening equipment in order to secure it during the transition to the aircraft, from the aircraft and on board of the aircraft.

The Airline Company is entitled to decline acceptance of oversized baggage for carriage, if it does not meet set forth requirements.

Free baggage allowance does not cover the oversized baggage; such baggage shall be paid for in accordance with the excess baggage rate.

Excess and oversized baggage shall be paid per whole kilograms. Values are rounded as follows: up to 0.5 kg – downwards, 0.5 kg and more– upwards to a whole kilogram.

Passenger’s payment for the carriage of excess, oversized and heavy-weight baggage shall be verified by excess baggage receipt.

Excess baggage receipt shall consist of control, agent, flight (one to four) and passenger coupons completed in compliance with the approved form.

Ticket can also have universal coupon for credit card payment as well as front and back covers.

Excess baggage receipt used for international air transportations shall contain information confirming that this document meets the definition of baggage receipt as per Article 4 of Warsaw Convention or Warsaw Convention as amended by Hague Protocol 1995.
